My entire commercial working life was devoted
to producing regimented works for others, and I
decided that I would create work, with the freedom
and personal satisfaction which surrealism and
impressionism provides, giving me release from the
restrictive detail of commercial work.
In my art, I tend to choose a variety of subjects
depending on my mood at the time, however
mostly my work consists of close-up views (as
opposed to vistas) of seascapes, landscapes,
sunsets and sunrises, l owers, forests, trees, i elds,
agriculture, or any subject which interests me at
the time.
I thoroughly enjoy laying colour over colour as a
wash and watching it all l ow into amazing patterns
and colours, never really knowing what the end
result will be. Many fascinating and incredible results
occur, and fellow artists question how I achieve such

spectacular ef ects and how long these works take
to create.
The majority of my work is acrylic on canvas,
favouring larger pieces up to and including 600mm
x 1200mm, which is ideally suited to corporate
features or larger living areas, however I have also
used board, adding other mediums such as sand,
plaster, gravel, gold and silver leaf, and l ora.
The medium I mostly used is commercial acrylic
gloss, which comprises vibrant true primary colours
and assorted rich accent tones; however the product
has recently been withdrawn from the market, so
I will be experimenting with enamels and other
mediums as well.
Due to the limited period of time spent producing
my own works, I have experienced minimal exposure
to exhibitions, and due to the cost involved I have not
invested in my own web site, however I have exhibited
