London-based photographer and TV
commercial director Tomo shoots for fashion
magazines such as GQ, L’Officiel Hommes Italia,
Mr Porter, L’ U o m o Vo g u e and Harper’s Bazaar.
This month he touched down in Miami for
our fashion story.
What was the inspiration for the shoot?
The idea was to create an aviation-inspired story
that would look real and believable and to move
away from an expected and posed look
What were your favourite pieces?
The Dunhill coat looked amazing
Miami – love or hate?
Love. Sun, heat and sea everywhere!
What is your flying style?
Travelling light (not often possible)
Boat or plane?
Boat. I love the sea
Emma is Boat International’s
production editor. She spent
three years living at sea – and
has written two books about her
onboard travels – but this month
she experiences the Caribbean
from land, staying at the historic
Jamaica Inn (page 187).
What’s your abiding memory of
your stay at Jamaica Inn?
The atmosphere is so chilled and
friendly

Nachos (made from plantain and
cassava) and a Red Stripe
Where did you drift?
To my own beach-side veranda

Some of the largest sailing yachts – the 81m Royal Huisman hull 400, the 43m
Baltic 142 Custom, or the 43m Wally 143 built by Persico Marine
Did you notice any trends?
We have more superyachts under construction this year again – more motor
yachts, more expedition yachts, but fewer sailing yachts
What is the biggest boat on order?
The 181.6m expedition yacht REV, designed by Espen Øino, built by Vard
