SUPERSAIL WORLD 49 APRIL-JUNE 2018
BLISS
37m
Design: Dubois
Build: Yachting Developments NZ 2009
Bliss, a performance composite sloop built in New
Zealand, is the creation of Ed Dubois, and has some
of the hallmarks of the late designer’s work, such as a
sweeping coachroof. She’s been away from the racing
scene, cruising in the Pacific and south-east Asia for
the last four years. But she has competition pedigree,
and at the 2015 Millennium Cup in New Zealand
she was two points short of an overall win
GANESHA
46m
Design: Dubois
Build: Vitters Shipyard 2013
Ganesha is back after a year off from the Superyacht
Cup. She is one of the most faithful superyacht regatta
competitors, and one of the most successful. She has
competed both in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
A sleek design by Dubois, she is also one of the most
striking in any fleet, noteworthy by the sight of her
spinnaker, which sports a bright orange image of the
Hindu deity that she is named after
BOLERO
32m
Design: Frers
Build: Far Ocean/Bolero Yachts 1992
A Frers aluminium-hulled sloop, built in Cape Town in the
early 1990s as a modern classic. She incorporates the
best features of that time, with pleasing overhangs, gentle
sheerline, reverse transom and a sleek, low coachroof.
Her wide, flush and uncluttered decks are ideal for racing.
Bolero won Class B last year before going off cruising to
Asia and returning to the Astilleros yard in Palma for some
work in March. She is now raring to go
HIGHLAND FLING 15
35.2m
Design: Frers
Build: Nautor’s Swan 2016
One of the fastest and best sailed, with a super-keen and
experienced owner, this performance carbon composite
Swan 115 launched in 2016 and earned a class win at
the America’s Cup superyacht regatta in Bermuda last
summer. This will be her debut at the Superyacht Cup and
her honed crew will be taking the racing very seriously.
Highland Fling is certainly one to watch
