God Time
loved ones, we can say good morning to God, listen, and wor-
ship with intention, even if it’s only a moment. We don’t ignore
our family if we can’t sit down for thirty minutes or an hour.
If I’m running late, I don’t tell my husband, “I’m sorry, I can’t
acknowledge you right now because I only have five minutes.”
No, we do whatever we can to connect with them, whether it’s
squeezing in a quick hug before we fly out the door or sitting
down to breakfast and conversation.
We adjust our time to our circumstances, but we don’t skip
it and wait until all the stars align and we have the perfect
amount of time, the right morning light, and plenty of peace
and quiet.
We do ourselves and our relationship with God a great
service when we choose to connect in any way we can, even on
our busy days. It is always time well spent.
This is the start. This is setting your anchor with the first
essential activity of God time. You can start every single day
with Him— no matter how busy, sick, or tired you are.
In the three- minute morning, we encourage women to read
and memorize Psalm 143:8, but that’s really just a guide. You
can tweak the three- minute morning however you like. Here
are some ideas:
- Set your phone alarm to show a verse or prayer point.
- Listen to a worship song.
- Tell God what you’re thankful for.
- Thank God for who He is and how wonderful He is.
- Remember God’s good deeds.
- Pray using one or more scripture.
- Keep a prayer calendar on your bathroom mirror.
