Hello Mornings How to Build a Grace-Filled, Life-Giving Morning Routine

Do Our Mornings Matter?

Jessica dedicated years of her life, day after day, to get
across her finish line.
Anything is possible in the course of one day, but it is also
true that anything is possible when we line up the dominoes
day after day— when we build the habits, pray the prayers, and
trust in a God who makes dry bones come alive (Ezek. 37:5).
I don’t know about you, but I want to live as if every day
is a big day and start each day so that I lay the dominoes for
greater things to come.

When Life Interrupts Our
Attempts to Live Exceptionally

But some days... are just hard.
It was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day, and I was
sure I was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad wife, mom,
friend, human being, and general occupier of space on planet
earth.
But at least I wasn’t prone to drama.
I sat in my minivan, in my garage, in July, in Texas, having
a pity party. The sweat and the tears streamed down my face,
and I mentally calculated the cost of all the therapy everyone
in my life was going to need after interacting with me that day.
I’d been grumpy, rude, and impatient.
I felt exhausted, unfocused, and overwhelmed.
And if I was honest, it wasn’t just that day. It was one of
many, and I was on a very slippery slope. I needed something to
change. I felt dry, empty, and hopeless. Little did I know that this
low point was the beginning of a season of coming alive again.
