I will sing praise to the LORD,
because he has done such good things for me.Psalm 16
Keep me safe, O God, because I have taken refuge in you.
I said to the LORD, ‘You are my Lord,
there is no “good life” for me without you.’I take great pleasure in those in the land
who are devoted to you, and in worthy people.People who hurry after other gods increase their sorrows;
I will not pour out blood offerings to them;
I will not take their names on my lips.LORD, you are my prize possession,
my winner’s cup. You hold my future.
The place you chose for me to live is very pleasant.
It’s true, I have a delightful life.I will praise the LORD, who even counsels me in the night
as my deepest feelings correct me.
I always keep the LORD in mind, so my strength will not waver.
Therefore my heart is glad and deep down I am happy;
even my body will finally rest safely,
because you will not abandon me to the grave;
you will not let someone loyal to you experience corruption.You have shown me the way of life;
you satisfy me with joy in your company;
near you there are endless pleasures.
