MATERIALS
3—5-inch-tall unfinished wooden
nutcrackers
Acrylic paint: white, metallic gold,
metallic silver
Artists brushes
Crafts glue (such as Beacon 527
Multi-Use Glue)
Stocking hanger base
Paint each nutcracker jacket, knees, and
base white; let dry. Paint each hat, shoulder
and sleeve trim, belt, and boots gold or
silver; let dry. Paint stocking hanger
base white.
Glue the nutcracker bases together side
by side; let dry. Glue the nutcrackers to top
of stocking hanger.

MATERIALS
18-inch foam cone
Crepe paper streamer: ivory
Crafts glue
Approximately sixty 5-inch-diameter
artificial poinsettias (we used floral
stems with five poinsettias each)
Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
5^1 ∕ 2 - to 6-inch-tall wooden pedestal
or candlestick
Glue crepe paper end to bottom of cone.
Wrap crepe paper around the cone,
covering the surface and gluing paper to
cone in spots to secure; let dry.
Trim all but three of the poinsettias
off stems, cutting just below green
plastic backings to make fl at bottoms
on poinsettias. Working from bottom to
top of cone, hot-glue poinsettias around
the cone in rows. Hot-glue the three
joined poinsettias to top of cone to form
a treetop.
Hot-glue poinsettia tree to top of
wooden pedestal.
