Work as before to add a 15 0 at the corner (e–f),
and then add eight 11 0 cylinder beads (f–g). Sew
through the center 15 0 at the bottom point of the
join, and then embellish the other outer edge as
a mirror image of the side you just finished. Sew
through the end 15 0 on the outer surface (g–h).
2) Flip the beadwork over so the back surface
is facing up, and sew through the first outer-
edge 15 0 on this surface. Repeat all the stitches
in step 1 to embellish the outer edge of this
surface exactly as you did the other surface.
3) With this surface still facing up (this will be
the new front surface), sew through the front
surface 15 0 in the end ring. Pick up a 15 0 for the
corner, and sew through the end unit 15 0 along
the inner edge (figure 11, a–b). Working as
in step 1, work seven stitches with two 15 0 s per
stitch and five stitches with one cylinder per
stitch (b–c). Add a 15 0 in the inner corner and
six cylinders along the inner edge of the short leg
(c–d). Sew through the next two 15 0 s along the
bottom corner (d–e). Embellish the remaining
edge as a mirror image of the first edge (e–f).
4) Sew through the two 15 0 s in the end ring
to exit the back surface, and work as in step 3
to embellish the inner edge of the back surface
the same way you did the front. End this thread.

CRYSTALS AND BAIL

  1. With the remaining working thread, sew
through the beadwork to exit an inner-edge
corner on the back surface (figure 12, point a).

2) Position the pear-shaped stone with the
setting in the opening of the beadwork, with
the point facing down toward the bottom corner
and the back surface facing up. Pick up a 15 0 , sew
through the adjacent top hole of the setting, pick
up eight 15 0 s, and sew through the correspond-
ing hole in the setting. Pick up a 15 0 , and sew
through the other inner-edge corner 15 0 (a–b).
3) Sew back through all the beads and the set-
ting just added, and sew down through the 15 0
your thread originally exited and the following
150 , cylinder, 15 0 , cylinder, and 15 0 (b–c).
4) Sew through the adjacent bottom hole of the
setting, pick up six 15 0 s, and continue through
the other hole in the setting and the correspond-
ing 15 0 on the other side of the frame (c–d).
Sew back through the setting and the beads
just added, and continue down through the 15 0
your thread exited at the start of this step (d–e).
5) Sew through the beadwork to exit the first
pair of 15 0 s along an inner edge above the cylin-
der beads on the back surface (point f). Join the
sides following a right-angle weave thread path:
Pick up a 15 0 , and sew down through the corre-
sponding pair of 15 0 s on the other frame edge
(f–g). Pick up a 15 0 , and sew through the first
pair of 15 0 s, the first 15 0 just added, and the
next pair of 15 0 s on the other frame edge (g–h).
Work one more stitch with a 15 0 as before (h–i).
6) Sew through the beadwork to exit the corre-
sponding starting pair of 15 0 s on the front
surface, f lip the beadwork over, and then work

identical joining stitches on this surface, exiting
the last 15 0 added (figure 13, a–b).
7) Picking up three 15 0 s per stitch, work
five right-angle weave (RAW) stitches
(figure 14, a–b).
8) Curve the RAW strip toward the back
of the pendant, and using 15 0 s, join the end
of the strip to the top 15 0 of the join on the back
(figure 15, a–b). Sew through the adjacent five
150 s as shown to exit a pair of 15 0 s (b–c).
9) Pick up a 15 0 , and sew through the next edge
150 on the bail to add an embellishment 15 0
