WILL’S TRIKE
Now, you will have noticed Will’s name mentioned when talking about several of the other trikes, so it’s no surprise that his own
trike is something a little special, too. First there’s 3948cc of brute engine power from a motor built to RPI Stealth spec and which
produces 235 brake horsepower and 253 lb ft torque with a Piper 270/110 for lowdown grunt. It has a Weber 500CFM carburettor
on an Edelbrock manifold and an eight-into-two one-off exhaust system. The frame was built by Will and, at the rear, the Jaguar
4.2 IRS axle has been narrowed by four inches each side and fitted with Gaz adjustable shocks. Steering is taken care of by a
modified Series 3 Landrover steering box with a drag link to the top yoke and controlled by a 10-inch Mountney steering wheel.
The fuel tank is a modified 35 litre stainless steel air receiver and a set of Suzuki Vitara bull bars sacrificed themselves for the rear
rack. Servo assisted brakes all round take care of stopping which is quite important when you consider Will reckons the trike to
have a top speed of 160mph; he’s personally had the trike up to 140mph (at 4000rpm)—on an autobahn—and was only prevented
from going faster because he couldn’t hold his head up any longer or stop his eyes from blurring! Drive it a little more sensibly, if
still fast, and he says it will turn up to 29mpg at motorway speeds.
