■ Kristen is hauled into
the police station, where
she reveals that Tony shot
Ted, and insists she didn’t
harm Nicole or Holly. “She
has proof of it, but she’s
not going to just reveal
it,” says Stacy Haiduk
(Kristen). “She needs to
hold onto her secrets.”
Besides, Kristen has
something more press-
ing to discuss with Brady:
Her belief that he had to
be aware, on some level, it
was really her he was mak-
ing love to, because they
belong together. “Kristen
also really wants Brady
to know that she did all
this for him,” explains
Haiduk. “Yes, she wanted
[to get control of] DiMera
Enterprises, but mainly she
came back for him. She
loves him and she’s plead-
ing with him to just believe
her.”
When Brady argues he
could never love someone
who would hurt an inno-
cent child, Kristen reveals
Holly isn’t dead: She’s
with Nicole. “Kristen tells
Brady, ‘You know I would
never hurt a child,’ ” recounts
Haiduk. “She says that she
did what was right and
brought Holly to Nicole.
Yes, she came up with a
plan that made it look like
they’re both dead, but she
didn’t kill either one of
them.”
Brady presses Kristen to
reveal Nicole and Holly’s
location, “But she’s not
going to tell him or the
cops where they are until
she gets what she wants,”
adds Haiduk. “She’s trying
to figure out how not to go
to prison.”
Later, a shell-shocked
Eric learns that Nicole is
alive, and Brady explains
the deal Kristen made
with her: Nicole got her
daughter back in exchange
for Kristen taking over
Nicole’s life. After, Eric
confronts Kristen and
things get heated. “Eric
doesn’t believe Kristen at
all, and she kind of screws
with him a little bit,” says
Haiduk. “He gets so angry
that he physically tries to
strangle her. Everybody
comes rushing in, because
Kristen is screaming for
her life.”
Brady pulls Eric off
Kristen, and she thanks
him, but Brady insists he
only did it for his brother.
“Kristen doesn’t believe
him,” notes Haiduk. “She
believes he was coming
to her rescue. She’s like,
‘Maybe you think you did
this for Eric, but I know
deep down that you love
me. You always have.’ ”
Ultimately, however,
Kristen is anxious to cut a
deal to get free. “Kristen’s
frustrated and angry,” notes
the actress. “For her, jail is
a cage. She doesn’t want
to be in a cage like an ani-
mal. She feels she deserves
better than that. And she’s
upset. She keeps saying, ‘I
didn’t kill anybody.’ ”
