Little Ringed Plover
Binomial Name: Charadrius dubius
The Little Ringed Plover is a common migratory, longitudinal-migratory, and resident birdof Bangladesh. All types of mudflats, swamps, marshes, grasslands, and riverbanks are
found throughout the country. It usually roams in pairs or small isolated flocks. Active duringthe day and night. They walk quietly by the water and collect earthworms, small aquatic
insects, larvae, dung beetles, small crabs, etc., from the ground. During the breeding seasonfrom March to August, they scratch the ground of rivers, lakes, or ponds and build nests
with pebbles and leaves.
