Blue-eared Kingfisher
Binomial Name: Alcedo meninting
Although similar in appearance to the common kingfisher, the main difference is that theydo not have brown spots around their ears like the common kingfisher. It is an uncommon
resident bird in Bangladesh. They roam the hilly rivers of Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal forests,tidal creeks, aquatic forests, or mangrove forests. Usually seen alone or in pairs. Doesn't
want to change places easily. That is, where it can be seen, he will return to the vicinity.They sit for a long time in the branches hanging over the water and then jump into the
water to catch their prey. Their diet list includes tiny fish and aquatic insects.
