Chestnut-headed Bee-eater
Binomial Name: Merops leschenaulti
The Chestnut-headed Bee-eater is a rare resident bird of Bangladesh. They mainly roamin mixed deciduous and evergreen forests. Also, wandering in mangrove forests. At one
time, they could be seen in abundance in plants, arable lands, beaches, and pastures inall parts of the country. All types of bee-eater prey on insects while flying. The food list
includes winged insects. Occasionally they are seen tasting date juice in winter. TheChestnut-headed Bee-eater has a strange variety of drinking water. They drink water by
flying over the water. During the breeding season from February to June, they build their
nests in tunnels on sandy land, steep banks of rivers, or reservoirs.
