Craft Stamper – July 2019

(Barry) #1
Soul Girl
By Tracy Easson
Oh my, on seeing the mould I believe I
may have swooned! Being a total newbie
regarding moulds I was both excited and
nervous to get started. I love bringing
my girls to life, and this little one wanted
to find her wings. What better way, I felt,
than to give her a few birdies in her hair.
Out came my trusty stash of air dry clay,
working it and rolling it into balls before
placing it into the moulds. Time to pop
them out and can I say how cleanly they
came out and filled with detail. My little
birdie halves had to be joined before they
dried out, I roughed up the inside of both
parts with a knife before pressing them
together gently. Using my finger with
a little water I smoothed the edges all
around before popping them in a warm
place to dry. I was having so much fun
that I popped a single birdie on to her
dress to add more detail. I can honestly
say it was a joy to use the moulds and so
easy to add dimension. I can see more
moulds finding a home with me in the
future.

FPC Sugarcraft sell a massive variety of silicone moulds in their online shop. The moulds are primarily marketed at the sugarcraft
community, but of course we mixed media folk know silicone moulds can also be used with clay, UTEE, resin etc! The designers here
have used the Lovebirds And Hearts mould to create the embellishments used on their projects.
