Craft Stamper – July 2019

(Barry) #1
Lovebirds
By Melina Dahl
When I received the mould I instantly wanted to try it out and ran into
my craft room. I was so disappointed when I realised my old clay had
dried out. I had to wait until the next day and take a trip to buy some
new air drying clay! When the birds and hearts came out of the mould,
looking quite matte and sad, I knew I wanted to give them a porcelain
look. Thinking one step further, why not go for an old, crackled porcelain
look? I went for turquoise, which is my favourite colour. After that layer
was dry I applied the One Step Crackle, waiting impatiently for it to dry
and then applied diluted white paint and some antiquing cream to make
the cracks visible. The hearts got the same treatment, but with a white
base layer and brown cream.
