B: Cut 16 squares 2 ̋ × 2 ̋ from
both background and paw fabrics for

C: Cut 12 squares 11/4 ̋ × 11/4 ̋ from
background fabric.

Half-Square Triangles
- Pair appropriate background and
paw fabric A and B squares. Then
draw a diagonal line on the lightest-
color square of each pairing. - Sew 1/4 ̋ from the drawn line on
both sides. Cut on the drawn line,
press the seam open, and trim the
seam allowance to a generous 1/8 ̋.
You should have 96 half-square
