Oruro 239, one block from the main plaza.
This is a favourite of vegetarian backpackers. Small place,
good food, get there early if you want a table.

Tel: (2) 622-3087
Good food in an elegant ambiance, with prices that are
reasonable, given the quality.

This is second consensus choice of locals, extensive menu,
fills up at night; you can tell by looking through the window
that folks are enjoying their food. Fixed-price menu. Picante
de pollo is recommended if you can handle piquant.

Tarija

 Pizzerias are ubiquitous in Tarija
Restaurant Bufalo (on the main plaza)
Receives good reviews and also serves American style
breakfast. Miss Bolivia dined here, so it’s no hole in the wall.
 Taverna Gattopardo
La Madrid 318
Tel: (2) 663-0656
This is the most popular restaurant for the locals, and is
used as a landmark for finding other places. Recommended
by many travellers is the fondue bourguignone, but you can
also get good salads, fish dinners, desserts and unusually
good coffee for Bolivia. Outdoor seating on the Plaza
adds atmosphere.
