tourney play.
Battle Creek Academy, which fin-
ished runner-up in 2023 in its first-
ever All-City appearance, did not
participate in the tourney this season.
“This was a great victory for us
today, beating Lakeview in the
championship game, and we made
the most of our one goal – with a
couple of our other shots hitting goal
posts,” said HC coach Grestini.
“Lakeview’s a very good team
again this year ... but we knew when
we lost 1-0 at Kalamazoo Central
earlier in the week that we’ve got
a very good team this season as
well. And with that close loss to
Kalamazoo Central that involved us
doing a lot of good things, we knew
what if we played with confidence
today that we’d wind up doing well
at All-City. And we did.
Following was Harper Creek’s var-
sity roster at All-City last Friday:
- 1-Broderick Hanger, So., goal-
keeper. - 2-Brady Reiber, So., midfielder.
- 3-Ben Saylor, So., midfielder.
- 4-Steven Maske, Jr., defense.
- 5-Carter Denton, So., forward.
- 6-Ethan Hardin, Sr., midfielder.
- 7-Kohen Hudson, So., forward.
- 8-Rodrigo Nunez, So., midfielder.
- 9-Brady Halverson, Jr., mid-
fielder. - 10-Phillip Moerchen, Jr., mid-
fielder. - 11-Alex LaFleur, Jr., defense.
- 12-Silas Lutzke, So., midfielder.

fielder. - 14-Jake Cushman, Fr., forward.
- 15-Joseph Cummins, Sr., defense.
- 16-TJ Ruble, So., midfielder.
- 17-Braylen Scheidler, So., mid-
fielder. - 20-Mason Morales, So., defense.
- 22-Tre Cotton, Sr., forward.
Helping head coach Grestini along
the sidelines for Harper Creek was
assist coach Ed Ruble.
More Pennfield - In its All-City consolation game
loss to the Calhoun Christian Co-Op,
PHS coach Rahn noted that junior
Garrett Hill scored the Panthers’ goal
in regulation; and that senior keeper
Landen Kline was strong in the
match, making five saves. - In its All-City first-round loss to
Battle Creek Central, junior Luke
Noffsinger made 10 saves between
the pipes. - And, in its season-opening game
on Aug. 21 at home, Pennfield lost
1-0 to Vicksburg as Noffsinger made
10 saves in that match as well.
