The 9th Annual Pennfield High
School Athletic Hall of Fame week-
end is set for Friday-Saturday, Sept.
20-21.
This year’s Hall of Fame inductees
are Marci (Clements) Smith, 1981;
Mike Rop, 1982; Jason Livengood,
1992; Greg Shepard, 1989; and Mike
Durkin (coach).
According to Pennfield Athletic
Director Brett Steele, the Hall of
Fame weekend includes a pre-game
reception before the varsity football
game against Harper Creek on Friday,
Sept. 20.
The new inductees will also be
introduced at halftime.
The banquet will take place on
Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Battle
Creek Country Club.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION : The City of Battle Creek will accept
sealed bids for the 2025 Watkins Culvert and Utilities Improvement
project. This project consists of, both a culvert replacement and
underground utility work. The culvert replacement occurs at stream
crossing on Minges Brook approximately 3200’ west of Minges Rd
S. This work consists of but is not limited to the removal of two 48”+
diameter culverts, placement of one single span 18’ x 6’ concrete box
culvert 46’ long, retaining walls, riprap and slope stabilization. The
utility portion includes but is not limited to 12,153 Syd of Pavt, Remov-
al, 12,093 Syd of Aggregate Base, 8 Inch, 8,116 Syd of Cold Milling
HMA, 4,626 tons of HMA, 4EML, 6,437’+/- of Water Main, 12 Inch,
1,142’+/- of Water Main, 12 inch, Directional Drill, HDPE and 839’ of
Sanitary Sewer, 8 inch.

FLUSHING SCHEDULE
Pennfield Charter Township Utilities Division
will be conducting their FALL water main
flushing for the purposes of maintaining qual-
ity water. All areas which are serviced by the
municipal water supply system will be affect-
ed by this procedure.
FLUSHING WILL START ON:
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2024 –
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2024
7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
During the hours of flushing and through the
entire week for which your house/business is
located, residents are encouraged to monitor
their water for rust prior to laundering, espe-
cially white and/or delicate clothes. The areas
to be flushed during this week are as follows:
Bounded on the South by the Township Cor-
porate limits, on the East by the Battle Creek
River, on the North by the end of the system
and on the West by East Avenue North, ba-
sically the Capital Avenue corridor. Also on
the South by the Township corporate lim-
its to Meadowlawn Avenue. On the East by
East Avenue North, on the North to the end
of the system and on the West by North Ave-
nue, which is mostly the North Acres system.
