Taking place on a g-g-g-g-g-ghost
ship, watery wickedness is on the
menu after four (deeply stupid)
American tourists go for a diving party
in the South Pacific. And wouldn’t you
know, they just end up stranded on a
spooky liner.
Supermassive Games is most
famous for PlayStation 4-exclusive
Until Dawn, and it sounds likeMan Of
Medan, the first entry in the studio’s
new scare em ‘up anthology, is
structurally similar. Not only can youR
control the four tourists at various
points in this branching adventure,
you also take on the role of the
captain. Psssst. We bet the cap is
behind it... and he’d have gotten away
with it, if it wasn’t for that pesky kid
from Quantum Break – Shawn Ashmore
plays one of the tourists.
With a choice-driven story where
every character can bite it, this
oceanic spookster should kick off The
Dark Pictures Anthology in spine-
tingling style.
Supermassive Games plan to
release two Dark Pictures games a
year, but they’re tight-lipped about
what they’re going to scare us with
next. We do know they’re going for
variety and the unexpected... and that
in itself gives us chills... Qou need to ask yourself
a key question before
sticking this inventive
action-adventure on
your wanted list...Do
you likeRatatouille? If so, you should
get on swimmingly with Asobo’s
mournful, rat-ridden quest.
For the rest of us, we may have to
playA Plague Talethrough clasped
fingers. Swarms of buck-toothed
vermin dominate the game’s fog-filled
medieval landscapes. Set during the
Hundreds Years’ War, you control
Amicia, as she guides her younger
brother through deathly wastelands.
To keep the rat hordes at bay,
Amicia can use her slingshot to ping
projectiles at haystacks and pyres,
the resulting fire driving away the
hordes. She can even use her weapon
to knock lamps out of enemy knights’
hands, providing a swift lunch for the
vermin masses. If the puzzles pull
their weight, this could be one
