- A cooling system pressure test (including the radiator cap) to uncover any
leaks. - An antifreeze protection to tell you if the antifreeze protection level is
acceptable (-34° F is safe). - Check the condition of the hoses and belts. Replace any soft or brittle hoses
and cracked belts. Tighten all loose hose connections. - A flow test tells you if the coolant is flowing properly and if the engine is
operating at optimum temperature levels. Address poor flow issues with a
cooling system flush and refill and thermostat replacement.
