38 But as for me, He is Allah, myLord, and I never associate with myLord anyone.ءَ ٣٩

الانكَ مَ مِ

نرَ

39 When you entered your garden,why did you not say, “As Allah wills;there is no power except throughAllah”? Although you see me inferiorto you in wealth and children.َكتِ ٤٠

عَ ل
َ
لسِ رْيُ
َ
ءِ و
ٓ
امَ
َّ
ٱلس
َ
ح

بصْ

ت

ق

ل
َ
ا ز
ً
يدعِصَ
40 Perhaps my Lord will give mesomething better than your garden,and release upon it thunderboltsfrom the sky, so it becomes barrenwaste.٤١

ر ً ا فوْ

ا غهَ
ُ
ؤ

41 Or its water will sink into theground, and you will be unable todraw it.”هِ ٤٢

ى لنِ

يَ
42 And ruin closed in on his crops,and so he began wringing his handsover what he had invested in it, as itlays fallen upon its trellises. And hewas saying, “I wish I neverassociated anyone with my Lord.”٤٣

ه

ونرُ يَ نصُ
ٌ
ة

ۥ ئفِ
ِ
ون
ُ
هِ ن دمِ

ٱلل
رً اصِ نتَ مُ

ان
َ
ا كمَ
َ
و
43 He had no faction to help himbesides Allah, and he was helpless.َكِا لَن ٤٤
ُ
ه
ُ
ة
َ
ي
ٰ
َ
ل
َ
و
ْ
هِ ٱل
َّ
لِل
ِّ
حَ ق
ْ
ا ًاب ۚ ٱ ل
َ
و
َ
ثرٌ
ْ
ي
َ
خ
َ
و
ُ
ه
ا
ً
ب
ْ
ق عُ رٌ
ْ
ي
َ
خ
َ
و
44 That is because authority belongsto Allah, the True. He is Best inrewarding, and Best in requiting.٤٥

وٰ ةِ ل

حَ ي
ْ
ا ٱ ل

ي

بصْ

ٱلل
ٰ
ى

رً ادِ تَ

ق م ُّ ءٍ
ْ
ى

ش
ِّ

ُ
ك
45 And cite for them the parable ofthe present life: it is like water thatWe send down from the sky; theplants of the earth absorb it; but thenit becomes debris, scattered by thewind. Allah has absolute power overeverything.٤٦

خا وَ ًابوَ

كَ ث

ند عِ

ً
لامَ
َ
أ
46 Wealth and children are theadornments of the present life. Butthe things that last, the virtuousdeeds, are better with your Lord forreward, and better for hope.
