217 They ask you about fightingduring the Holy Month. Say,“Fighting during it is deplorable; butto bar others from Allah’s path, andto disbelieve in Him, and to preventaccess to the Holy Mosque, and toexpel its people from it, are moredeplorable with Allah. Andpersecution is more serious thankilling. They will not cease to fightyou until they turn you back fromyour religion, if they can. Whoeveramong you turns back from hisreligion, and dies a disbeliever—those are they whose works willcome to nothing, in this life, and inthe Hereafter. Those are the inmatesof the Fire, abiding in it forever.٢١٨
