Clinical Manifestations


Infrequent attacks of asthma elicited by exposure to cold, wheezing, chilliness, frequent-pale
urination, tiredness, depression.


Tongue: Pale, wet.


Pulse: Deep-Weak-Slow.


Explanation


This formula treats Lung-Qi and Kidney-Yang deficiency with pronounced Cold.



  • Hong Shen (Red Ginseng) tonifies Yang, the Lungs and the Original Qi.

  • Ge Jie tonifies Kidney-Yang and strengthens the Kidney's function of grasping Qi.

  • Bei Sha Shen, Wu Wei Zi and Mai Men Dong nourish Yin and absorb fluids to
    moderate the heating influence of the first two substances.

  • Chen Pi combines with Hong Sheng to prevent Dampness.

  • Zi He Che tonifies the Essence and strengthens the Kidney's function of grasping Qi.
