fromthecourts ofglory—everyangel,sothatthere
willbesilenceinheavenasthismightyretinuesweeps
downfromheaventoearth.
Itis toenable mortalstobeholdthispicture, that
Godwillwithdrawthecurtainoftheskies. Itisthat
manmayviewunhinderedthecomingoftheSonof
God. Forages,Hiswordhasbeenpledged—''Every
eyeshallseeHim;"and,truetothatword,everyeye
willseeHim.
Asthosewhohave rejectedHimbeholdtheawful
sight,theywillcryfortherocksandthemountainsto
fallon them andhide them from the wrath ofthe
Lamb,"forthegreatdayofHiswrathiscome; and
whoshallbeabletostand?"
EventhosewhohaveacceptedHim,thosewhohave
livedforHimintheearth,andhavebornetheirtes-
timonyforthecauseofrighteousness,willbestartled
at that awful vision of power and brightness; but
floatingdowntotheminadvanceofthismightypro-
cessionfromtheskieswillcome thewordofChrist,
likethenotesofrarestmusic,''Mygraceis sufficient
forthee." Strengthenedby thatassurance, fortified
bythat power, they willbe able to say: "Therefore
will not we fear,though theearthbe removed, and
thoughthemountainsbecarriedintothemidstofthe
sea;thoughthewatersthereofroar andbetroubled,
thoughthemountainsshakewiththeswellingthereof."
Withashoutoftriumph,theywillexclaim: "Thisis
theLord;wehavewaitedforHim,wewillbegladand
rejoiceinHissalvation."
