A

mit Singhi has been named Chief
Financial Officer for the Piston Group,
a newly-created position reporting to
the group’s CEO and Chairman Vinnie
Johnson.


Singhi will oversee the group’s finance
organization, with responsibility for financial
management, planning and reporting, as well
as for financial controls, treasury functions and
financing for the Piston Group of companies,
including Piston Automotive, Irvin Automotive
Products and AIREA, as well as the group’s
controlling interest in Detroit Thermal Systems.


Singhi has held a variety of management
positions at Ford Motor Company and General
Motors. Most recently he was CFO at FLIR
Systems, a publicly- held mid-cap technology
company based in Portland, Oregon.


He began his business career at General Motors
as a Research Engineer in 1989. Five years
later he joined Ford Motor Company where he
progressed through a series of senior finance
positions in North America prior to being named
CFO for Ford South America in 2012.


“Our vision is to become a fully integrated global
automotive supplier. Amit is a result-oriented
leader with global operational and financial
experience. He will provide additional strategic
direction and oversight at a group level to help
us reach new, higher levels of performance in
the years ahead,” Vinnie Johnson said.


Singhi holds Master’s degrees in Electrical
Engineering and Business Administration from
the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and a
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from
the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.

Navistar Makes Key


Leadership Changes


N

avistar International Corporation has promoted
Michael A. Cancelliere as President, Truck and
Parts, replacing William R. Kozek, who will
assume a planning role focused on emerging
industry opportunities. Navistar also announced that
Bernardo Valenzuela is returning to the company in
the newly- created role of Vice President of Export, and
President of Mexico and Global Operations.
“These leadership and structural changes will bring
even greater focus to several critical revenue areas of
our business. They represent another important step
in our journey toward sustainable profitability through
growth and expansion in our core and select global
markets,” Troy A. Clarke, Navistar Chairman, President
and Chief Executive Officer, said.

In his new role, Cancelliere will oversee all aspects of
the company’s truck and parts business. Most recently,
he served as Senior Vice president, Global Parts and
Customer Service, a business he most recently led to
three consecutive years of record profits.
Cancelliere, who has been with the company for more
than 37 years in a variety of truck and parts sales
leadership positions, will report to Persio Lisboa,
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Knorr-Bremse


R

alph Heuwing, Chief Financial officer (CFO)
of the technology company Dürr AG, will join
Knorr-Bremse AG as CFO on November 1,
2017 and will take over the responsibilities of
Lorenz Zwingmann on January 1, 2018. Zwingmann will
prepare and steward the transfer of responsibilities to
his successor before leaving the company.
“We have been able to recruit such an experienced,
successful and proficient CFO as Ralph for Knorr-
Bremse. We are banking on his rigorous financial
management and far-sighted strategy to help drive
Knorr-Bremse forward along its unswerving path to
growth,” Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Knorr-
Bremse AG, Hans-Georg Härter, said.

After completing his studies of Mechanical Engineering
at RWTH Aachen and the MIT in Cambridge (USA),
and earning an MBA from INSEAD in France, Heuwing
began his career with Boston Consulting Group as
a consultant with its Munich and Frankfurt offices. In
1996 he was transferred to India to set up the firm’s
consulting business there, and returned to Germany in
2001 as its Managing Director and Partner.
