06: DESIGN CLASSIC HOUSE
LOCATION MELBOURNE
A fi ve-bedroom family home constructed
over four decades ago was given a
completely new look with a rear addition and
an all-embracing reinvigoration to inject some
modern traits into its wilted persona. New
light fi ttings sparkle throughout, including a
boxed pendant in the hall and a chandelier in
the bedroom that brings a fi ssion of glamour
to the space. Classic, modernist light fi ttings
also feature. In the kitchen, the trio of black
pendants complement the marble benchtop.
Light fi ttings can be as much an artistic
presence as a way to illuminate the space.

LOCATION AUCKLAND
Take one inspirational designer and a family
of four who are eager to embrace rural living
in style and you have this idyllic country retreat
set in the rural regions of New Zealand. Thehouse is simple in design and faultless in
its execution, with many clever features
spread throughout. In keeping with the
rustic American vibe, an antler pendant
takes centre stage in the great room that
has ceilings that stretch to 8.5 metres. In
the bedroom, a David Trubridge pendant
complements the rustic earthy space.
