Supercross racing at Round 9
in Atlanta. Once known as the
best holeshotter in the game,
Alessi was realistic about his
chances during a pre-race
interview, admitting he’ll be
off the pace given it was his
fi rst AMA Supercross race in
over two years.
He managed to make theMainEventbutdidn’tnailone
ofhistrademarkstartsand
was fi ghting for survival at the
back of the pack. By the
12-minute mark he was a lap
down on KTM trio Cooper
Webb, Blake Baggett and
Marvin Musquin. Alessi
fi nished the race in 16th.

Rep, Dale Johnson, or HOS
(Head of Sales) as he likes
to be called (he has one
staff member), had the
opportunity to show off his
race craft to the industry at
the launch of POD’s K4
knee brace.
POD took us to a go kart
track in Smeaton Grange,
NSW, where we had the
opportunity to race each
other in two 15-lap heats
before a 25-lap fi nal sorted
the men from the boys. Our
humble ad rep warned us
he wasn’t much chop whenit comes to racing but no
one wasn’t prepared for
what was to follow.
Dale arrived late, quickly
suited up and headed out
onto the track. The Maltese
midget just didn’t grasp the
concept and was lapped by
about half the fi eld in each
race. In fact, those of us who
lapped him actually tried to
use him as a block to prevent
the person following to get
through as well. It didn’t
bother Dale as he was
grinning from ear to ear
after each race. Don’t forget,
