PENDING WORLD RECORDS

JORGE LAZO’S YELLOWFIN TUNA
Mexican angler Jorge Lazo potentially set the new Men’s 24kg (50lb)
line class world record for yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) with
this massive 192.59kg (424lb 9oz) fish that he caught on January 8
while fishing out of Loreto, Mexico. Lazo and crew were anchored and
chunking with squid when the huge tuna hit, taking Lazo nearly two
hours to land on the stand-up gear he was using. If approved, the catch
will be the second-heaviest yellowfin ever recorded by the IGFA, and
would easily replace the existing record of 175kg (385lb 12oz).

REECE ROCKETT’S GREATER AMBERJACK
Reece Rockett – age 15 – caught this massive 39.26kg (86lb
9oz) greater amberjack (Seriola dumerili) on January 13 while
fishing aboard Badfish off Texas, USA. Rockett was fishing
with livebait and needed just over 30 minutes to subdue the
hard-fighting AJ on the heavy-tackle outfit she was using. If
approved, her catch will replace the existing Female Junior
world record of 24.08kg (53lb 1oz).

ANNUAL CONTEST ENTRY
Zachary Sullivan caught this beautiful
22.34kg (49lb 4oz) bull dolphinfish on
December 27 while kite fishing off Florida,
USA. While Sullivan’s catch barely falls short
of the current Male Junior world record, his
impressive catch has been entered into the
Junior Category of the IGFA’s Annual Fishing
Contest and could win Zachary some great
prizes from YETI and Costa Sunglasses.

NIKKI SUTTON’S
GOLDEN TREVALLY
Aussie angler Nikki Sutton potentially set the
new Women’s 2kg (4lb) line class world record
for golden trevally (Gnathanodon speciosus)
with this impressive 9kg (19lb 13oz) fish
she caught on November 5 while fishing off
Exmouth. Nikki skillfully played the fish for
20 minutes after it hit the livebait she was
casting. If approved, her catch will replace
the existing world record of 8.9kg (19lb 9oz).
