God Time

What could your first step be? Maybe it’s just slowly reading
through the Bible. Use an old- fashioned bookmark, and start
from the beginning. Don’t worry about how many chapters you
read or don’t read each day. Just start your day reading the Word.
Maybe for you, it’s listening through the Bible using an
audiobook. Maybe it’s daily scripture memory— marinating
in one passage at a time. There are so many ways to study
the Bible. From character studies to book studies to word
studies— your options are endless.
Whatever it is, I encourage you to find a simple study
method to start your day. If you need some ideas, you can
check out the Hello Mornings Big Bible Study Idea List in the
appendix where I’ve listed a few of my favorite study methods.
Other powerful components of your quiet time might
include the following:



  • Prayer
    I have specific things I pray for each day. You can
    download my prayer calendars at HelloMornings.org to
    see, for example, the topics I pray for my husband and
    my children. I also keep a list in my to- do app for all the
    prayer requests that pop up during the day.

  • Journaling
    Journaling is another popular option. There is some-
    thing truly powerful about slowing down and writing.
    You can write out prayers, memories, gratitude lists, and
    Bible verses as you journal during your God time.

  • Worship
    And, finally, there are so many ways to experience
    worship. Ideas include listening to worship songs, reading
