Risks and Contraindications
This pose is contraindicated for students with hernias or knee, hip, or
lower-back pain.
Alignment Points


  • Begin in dragon pose (page 128) and extend the front leg for-
    ward while pulling the hips back.

  • Balance on the front heel, with the toes facing upward.

  • Rest the hands on the  oor or blocks or reach a hand out and
    grab the front foot.
