SUPPORTED HERO
This posture is good for all pranayama practices, especially breath of  re (page
193), kapalabhati (page 194), and alternating nostril breathing (page 192).


  • Bring the knees together and spread the feet wider than the hips.

  • Sit between the feet on top of a prop.

  • Adjust the height of the prop so that the knees are comfortable.

  • Sit up with a tall straight spine.

  • Relax the shoulders back and down.

  • Relax the hands in the lap, or knees, or bring toward the face for alternat-
    ing nostril breathing.
