through the next cylinder in round
5, the next cylinder in round 6, and
the following cylinder in round 5
(photo f). Repeat this stitch around
the ring. If your initial ring was a
multiple of four, this will work out
perfectly. If it was a multiple of two,
the last space will be a little small
and you will only sew through one
cylinder. The spacing will be a little
tight, but it will look better than
leaving an empty space (photo g).
BEADED COMPONENT
- Sew through the beadwork to
exit the first round, and then sew
down through the beading founda-
tion and come back up through the
foundation right next to the bezel.
Using 4 mm pearls, work a round
of beaded backstitch (photo h).
2) Sew up next to the round of
pearls. Continuing in beaded back-
stitch, pick up an A, a Half-Tila,
and an A, and sew down through
the foundation, up between the
Half-Tila and last A added, and
through the last A added (photo i).
Pick up a Half-Tila and an A, sew
down through the foundation, up
between the Half-Tila and last A
added, and through the last A
added (photo j). Repeat this last
stitch around the ring (photo k).
3) Sew down through the founda-
tion and back up near the open
hole of the nearest Half-Tila, and
continue through the open hole
of the Half-Tila (photo l). Pick up
a 2 mm fire-polished bead, and sew
through the open hole of the next
Half-Tila (photo m). Repeat this
last stitch around the ring, and sew
through the round again, stitching
each side of the Half-Tilas to the
foundation.
4) Sew up through the foundation
in an opening between two Half-
Tilas and an A and 2 mm. Pick up
a color B 15 0 seed bead, sew down
through the foundation, and up
through the foundation in the next
opening. Repeat this stitch to add
a B in each opening (photo n).
5) Sew up through the foundation
along the perimeter of the bead-
work, and work a round of beaded
backstitch using an alternating pat-
tern of color C 11 0 seed beads and
color D 11 0 seed beads (photo o).
6) Wrap the cup chain around
the perimeter of the beadwork, and
either glue it down using E6000
or stitch it in place, sewing over
each metal bar between the cups
(photo p). End the thread on the
back of the beading foundation.
7) Using E6000, glue the 18 mm
button into the center of the ring
(photo q).
8) Carefully trim around the
perimeter of the beadwork, making
sure you don’t cut the thread.
