Small Scale Luft 46
FLY
W
e ran out of space
last month to
include Fly in the
Czech News Column, but it was
good to catch up with them at
ModellBrno. Fly released at the
show, two 1/72 scale kits, the
Fiat G.50 bis and Avrocar VZ-9
and one 1/144 scale the Daimler
Benz Project F. This small Luft
46 project kit was released in
three boxings, German Service,
Axis Forces and Captured.
The little DB Project F was
a complete
surprise. This
would be a
perfect little
model to get
over a spell
of modellers
block!
Choo Choo for Chattanooga!
EDUARD
B
y the time you read this
the all new Mustang in
1/48 scale will have had its
debut at the IPMS US Nationals
at Chattanooga, Tennessee.
For further information on
this new kit, please see our
exclusive irst look elsewhere
in this month’s issue.
We were set a small quiz by
Eduard to guess the subject of
one of their future releases, after
much reading about the Cuban
revolutionary Che Guevara
and the aircraft he was lying
when he crashed into his own
garden, I have concluded that
Eduard will be working on the
Zlin Z-326 Trener Master. For
those of you unfamiliar with this
aircraft, it looks a lot like a DHC
Chipmunk but with a retractable
undercarriage. We don’t know
the scale of this kit (though we
suspect 1/72 scale) or when it will
be released but for fans of Czech
aviation this is exciting news!
We do know though, that the
following kits will be available
very soon after you read this;
irst up in 1/72 scale in the
popular Weekend Line we have
the MiG-21, this kit features
the very cool POLISH Air Force
example painted with a Marlin
along the length of the fuselage.
Also, in 1/72 scale, Eduard are
reissuing the Spitire MkIX as a
ProiPack Edition. Moving up to
1/48 scale, we can look forward to
a Limited-Edition release of the
Fw190A-5 Jabo and a ProiPack
Edition of the P-400 Airacobra.
For E-Day I am really looking
forward to the release in 1/72
scale of the MAG built Fokker
DVII, this kit will feature the
various schemes which the
single aircraft lown by the
Czechoslovak Air Force wore
during its long service.
As well as the kits, there
are lots of photo-etch and
Brassin sets to tempt as
well http://www.Eduard.com

SPECIAL HOBBY
S
pecial Hobby’s milling
machines are slowly but
surely cutting the moulds
for their forthcoming 1/72
scale Night Fighting Meteors,
the old Matchbox kit is getting
very hard to ind now, so a
new kit of the night ighter
Meteor is long overdue.
More immediately though
the P-40E Warhawk in 1/72 scale
will be released with the title
‘Claws and Teeth’. The kit will
contain two grey styrene runners,
one sprue of clear plastic, a
full colour instruction booklet
and decal sheet with markings
for four really eye-catching
liveries with shark mouths.
In 1/32 scale the T-33 will
be released in a new boxing
concentrating on ‘Japanese and
South American T-Birds’. The
T Bird was produced in greater
numbers than any other jet
trainer and except for Antarctica
and Australia, the T-bird was
operated world-wide. So there are
plenty of options for future colour
schemes. The kit has six styrene
sprues, one sprue with clear parts,
a full colour instruction manual,
pre-painted photo etch, resin
cast details and a sheet of decals.
On top of this, we are hoping
that we may also have some more
news on the 1/32 scale Westland
Whirlwind ighter at E-Day!
And as ever there is a wealth
of accessory sets from CMK,
for both Special Hobby and
other manufactures kits.
