Jenner, but now new! can reveal
that it was the transgender star
who gave her son the courage to
walk away from his toxic marriage
to Kaitlynn Carter.
Last week, a rep for Brody and
Kaitlynn announced, “They love
and respect one another, and know
that this is the best decision for
their relationship moving forward.”
Although Brody, 35, revealed
his disappointment over his
fractured relationship with Caitlyn
during the reboot of the hit MTV
reality series, an insider has told
new! that his dad has since been
his greatest support.

Sadly, Brody and Kaitlynn’s
relationship isn’t the only
romance to have hit the skids
since The Hills returned, with
new cast member Mischa
Barton reportedly splitting
from Australian model James
Abercrombie after two yearsof dating. The 33-year-old
actress raised eyebrows
when she unfollowed the
wealthy heir on social media,
deleting all trace of him from
her Instagram account.
A source close to the star
claimed Mischa cut ties withJames because he “turned
out to not be the person she
thought he was”.
The insider added, “She
broke it off with him a couple
of weeks ago and she’s just
really taking time to be single
right now.”marriage with Kris Jenner,”

explained. “It was Caitlyn
who encouraged Brody to
walk away, warning that it
would be even worse once
they’d had children together.”
The couple were often at
each other’s throats on the
show, with one of Kaitlynn’s
biggest gripes being Brody’s
reluctance to curb his party
boy lifestyle. In a recent episode,
Brody even branded the 30-
year-old a “psychopath” when
she questioned why he returned
home late from a DJ gig. The
tense stand-off quickly spiralled
into a row about starting a family.
“While I don’t have kids, I’m
gonna pretty much do what I
wanna do and live for myself, as
opposed to live for another human
being,” Brody explained. “I think
that’s why she wants kids, she
wants me to change in that way.”But Kaitlynn said she believes
Brody’s rocky relationship with
Caitlyn could be to blame for his
refusal to settle down.
“I do feel like Brody’s
relationship with his dad has taken
an emotional toll on him,” she said.
“His outlook is very pessimistic
when it comes to romantic
relationships and having kids.”
Our insider claimed the
couple’s blazing rows were the
biggest cause of their split.
“Kaitlynn’s jealousy and
constant nagging made Brodyfeel trapped, which would
lead to rows,” they said.
“It seemed like Kaitlynn
would track Brody’s every
move, which made him feel like
a prisoner in their relationship.”
And Brody’s former BFF
Spencer Pratt echoed our source
last week, saying, “He almost was
like a hostage.” Yikes!
It has also emerged that Brody
and Kaitlynn weren’t legally
married. They had a lavish
Indonesian ceremony in June
2018, but didn’t obtain a marriage
licence in the US. At least there’ll
be less paperwork, eh guys?
