  1. Repeat Step 8 with red, orange, and
    dark gold Maple Leaf units to make six
    A blocks total.


ASSEMBLE BLOCK B



  1. Use a pencil to mark a diagonal
    line on wrong side of off-white print
    1" squares.

  2. Align marked off-white print
    squares with opposite corners of
    a green print 1^1 ⁄ 2 × 2 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangle
    (Diagram 7; note direction of marked
    lines). Stitch on marked lines; trim
    seam allowances to^1 ⁄ 4 ". Press open
    attached triangles to make a leaf
    unit. The unit still should be 1^1 ⁄ 2 × 2 1 ⁄ 2 "
    including seam allowances. Repeat to
    make six leaf units total.

  3. Referring to Diagram 8, lay out
    an off-white print 1^1 ⁄ 2 ×3 " rectangle, a
    brown dot 1× 1 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangle, a leaf unit,
    and an off-white print 1^1 ⁄ 2 " square.
    Join pieces to make leaf row. Repeat to
    make six leaf rows total. Set aside two
    leaf rows for Block C.

  4. Use a pencil to mark a diagonal line
    on wrong side of 16 off-white print 1^1 ⁄ 2 "
    squares.

  5. Align marked off-white print
    squares with ends of an orange print
    1 1 ⁄ 2 × 6 1 ⁄ 2 " rectangle (Diagram 9; note
    direction of marked lines). Stitch on
    marked lines; trim seam allowances
    to^1 ⁄ 4 ". Press open attached triangles
    to make a top/bottom pumpkin row.
    Repeat to make eight top/bottom
    pumpkin rows total.
    6. Referring to Diagram 10, lay out
    one leaf row, two pumpkin top/bottom
    rows, and three orange print 1^1 ⁄ 2 × 6 1 ⁄ 2 "
    rectangles; join to make a strip-pieced
    pumpkin unit. The unit should be 6^1 ⁄ 2 "
    square including seam allowances.
    Repeat to make four strip-pieced
    pumpkin units total.
    7. Referring to Diagram 11, sew orange
    B side units to opposite edges of a
    pieced pumpkin unit. Join dark gold
    large triangle-squares to opposite
    ends of two orange B side units; sew to
    remaining edges to make Block B. The
    block should be 12^1 ⁄ 2 " square including
    seam allowances.
    8. Repeat Step 7 with remaining dark
    gold large triangle-squares and light
    brown floral large triangle-squares to
    make four B blocks total.


ASSEMBLE BLOCK C


  1. Draw a diagonal line on wrong
    side of remaining off-white print 1^1 ⁄ 2 "
    squares.

  2. Layer a marked off-white print
    square atop an orange print 1^1 ⁄ 2 "
    square. Sew on marked line. Trim
    excess fabric leaving a^1 ⁄ 4 " seam
    allowance; press open attached
    triangle to make small triangle-square.
    The triangle-square should be 1^1 ⁄ 2 "
    square including seam allowances.
    Repeat to make eight small triangle-
    squares total.
