Before taking a break for lunch,
MEFS Vice Secretary General
Gyorgy Kovacs introduced
the sports programme of the
European Universities Games
- LOC representatives,
Kata Varga presented in detail
the plan for Debrecen and Reka
Molnar for Miskolc, introducing
the sports and venues for the
EUG 2024 in the two cities.
The next part of day one of the
convention was dedicated to the
medical and catering aspects
and was led by Abosede Ajayi,
EUSA Medical Commission
Chair. The registrations and
accreditation process were
then presented by Aleksandra
Andreeva, EUSA Sports
Administrator.
Following, the Polish Delegation
then reflected on the EUG
2022 in Lodz, having Dominik
Lezanski, EUG 2022 Main
Coordinator, giving an overview
of the event and its legacy.
Iwona Neroj, Coordinator of the
Organisation Department of
European Universities Games
2022, talked about the main
operational fields, including
transportation, accommodation,
catering, accreditation,
volunteers, marketing,
educational events, while
Kamil Kozlowski, EUG 2022
Sports Manager, presented the
sports programme and related
experiences in Lodz.
The end of the day saw the
panel discussion held, with the
main topic being the lessons
learned from the EUG Lodz
- The Panel discussion was
moderated by Natasa Jankovic,
EUSA Consultant, and featured
the EUG 2022 delegation and
Sara Rozman, EUSA Education
and Development Manager.
The first day was closed
with the last speech given by
Michele Ruocco, CUS Salerno
Secretary General. Since the
2026 European Universities
Games will be held in the city
of Salerno, it was appropriate
to give some context to the
audience about it.
On the second day of the EUSA
Convention, the main event
was the official dinner, which
included speeches given by
MEFS President, Lajos Mocsai,
MEFS Secretary General, Peter
Juhasz, EUSA 1st Vice-President,
Haris Pavletic, and EUG2024 OC
Project Manager, Laszlo Vegh.
The dinner event was attended
by the representatives of the
Hungarian authorities, including
the delegates of both hosting
cities and universities, as well
as governing sports federations
and key national entities.
On June 3, the final active
day of the conference, EUSA
Representatives and Technical
Delegates visited Debrecen and
Miskolc to inspect the venues
for the EUG 2024. Once the
inspections were finished, the
preparation of reports started.
The expeditioners later returned
to Budapest and met with the
Organizing Committee to draw
conclusions from the inspection
visits.
The convention was wrapped
up in the afternoon, after
a productive session of
presentations for each sport,
accommodations, catering and
accreditation centres for the
EUG 2024.
The next edition of the European
Universities Games will be
held in the Hungarian cities
of Debrecen and Miskolc in
July 2024. The 7th edition of
the event will be the largest
university sports event in
Hungary since 1965, when the
Summer Universiade (World
University Games) was held in
Budapest.
