VIN and bid in a sealed envelope. You will need to put the
VIN and tow company’s name on the outside of your sealed
envelope. ALL bids need to be in the position of LaRita
Pena by noon on 07/05/2024. The sealed bids start on the
auction date, 07/05/2024, 09:00 AM until 12:00 PM, EAR-
LY BIDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. Winning bidders will be
contacted by telephone. The Emmett Township Department
of Public Safety reserves the right to accept or reject any bid.

Following is information about two
local runs/walks: Signup info for
the sixth annual Battle Creek Half
Marathon and 5K on July 6, and
top results from the annual Cheetah
Chase 5K Run/Walk that took place
last Saturday (June 22) at Binder
Park Zoo.
B.C. HALF MARATHON
AND 5K EVENT

The event is scheduled for the
morning hours of Saturday, July 6.
The runs are side events of the
annual Battle Creek Field of Flight
& Balloon Festival.
The Half Marathon & 5K – spon-
sored and put on again by the local
Cereal City Athletics organiza-
tion – features a unique course that
lets runners run on airport runways
and through the festival grounds of
the Field of Flight while morning
balloon launches are taking place
(weather permitting), and through
quiet neighborhoods of B.C. includ-


ing the Goguac Lake area.
The Battle Creek Half Marathon
& 5K is a culmination of the run-
ning community of Battle Creek and
attracts hundreds of participants and
spectators from both near and far.
The start and finish lines are locat-
ed across Helmer street from the
Field of Flight.
Registrations and more event infor-
mation can be found at runsignup.
com and at cerealcityathletics.com.
Half Marathon registration
includes:


  • An event t-shirt.

  • Finish line beer (over 21 only).

  • Finisher’s medals.

  • Free event photos.

  • Two wristbands and a parking
    pass to the Field of Flight.
    Registration in the 5K includes:

  • An event t-shirt.

  • Finish line beer (over 21 only).

  • Finisher’s medals.

  • Free event photos.

  • One wristband and a parking pass
    to the Field of Flight.
    Also, virtual registrations include
    include bibs, medals and t-shirts.
    Please note: In order to get par-
    ticipant packets shipped in a timely
    manner, registration for the virtual
    event will close earlier than the in-
    person event. Shipping for virtual
    packets is included in the registra-
    tion cost.
    Following are other event notes
    and information:
    Packet Pick-Up

  • There will be no paper registra-
    tions at any of the packet pick-ups.
    All registrations must be done
    online.

  • Packet pick-up will be available
    before the event. Time and loca-
    tion will be sent to registrants closer
    to the event. The CCA group also
    schedules a packet pick-up for ear-
    lier in the week so that participants
    will have access to their Field of
    Flight wristbands ahead of time if
    they wish to use them prior to the
    event.

  • Packet pick-up will also be avail-
    able on race morning beginning at 6
    a.m.

  • Registration will not be available
    on race morning.
    Start Times

  • The Half Marathon begins at 7
    a.m.

  • The 5K begins at 7:15 a.m.
    Awards
    Results will be posted at the event,
    as well as available electronically on
    the race website.
    Awards are given to the top three
    overall male and female finishers as
    well as the following age groups for
    the Half Marathon & 5K:

  • Nine and under, 10-19, 20-29,
    30-39 ... through 70-over.

  • Female Overall Masters (1), Male
    Overall Masters (1). Overall and
    Masters winners are not eligible for
    age group awards.
    An actual awards ceremony will
    not take place. Overall and age
    group awards can be picked up at
    the event once results are finalized.
    Breakfast and Brews
    Breakfast and Brews is an addi-
    tional fee. Participants may purchase
