The 97th annual Goguac Lake Swim on Saturday, Aug. 10 will feature three
events: The historic 1.15-mile regular swim, a 750-meter swim and a 200-
yard race (for kids age 16 and under). Action at the Willard Beach area of

Announcements will be shared
throughout the morning to inform
you.
- The Y will provide light snacks
and water for participants.
- Registration fees are $20 for the
200-yard course, $30 for the 750-
meter course and $40 for the 1.15-
mile course. Fees are increased by $5
after July 21. Late and day-of regis-
trations will also be taken.
- More race information will follow
prior to the week of the race. See the
aforementioned website and contact
information for details.
More Race Information - Please arrive at Willard Beach
between 7-7:30 a.m on Saturday,
July 16 to check in, receive your cap,
number and chip. - The Y will provide swim caps for
the 750-meter and 1.15-mile races
(these caps must be worn). - The 200-yard race starts at 8 a.m.
(only for kids age 16 and under). - The 1.15-mile races start at 8:30
a.m. - The 750-meter event starts at 8:40
p.m. - The event is supported by 10
lifeguards, 10 volunteers, and the
Calhoun County Sheriff Dive Team. - The course is open 8-10 a.m., and
you must complete the course by 10
a.m. - No spectators of the course events
may interfere with a swimmer, which
includes leading a swimmer with a
kayak, SUP board, jet ski or boat.
The spectator must remain 12 feet
or greater from the swimmer. The
only reason a spectator may enter the
course is to help a swimmer in need.
- If there is inclement weather
(rain, drizzle, harsh wind that creates
excessive and unsafe waves) we will
wait up to 15 minutes to allow the
weather to pass. If the weather does
not pass, the event will be cancelled. - Your safety is our number one
priority, so please be patient and kind
if the weather becomes a challenging
factor.
