“At about five miles, I’m going
to switch some of the guys out
and they’re going to keep going
south on 40th Street by the Kellogg
Elementary and we’re going to
switch some people out there and
we’re going to have some alumni
that are going to run with us,” said
Thomas who planned the route to
keep them off of the M-89 highway.
“So, we’re going to pick up one
alumni person there and they’re
going to go along the south side
of Gull Lake over to 37th street
and there’s a Gull Lake Sewer and
Water, I think, and that’s about 12
miles and we’re going to stop and
switch some people out there.”
A Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s
Office school liaison officer Murphy
from Galesburg-August will be pro-
viding traffic control, she said.
“He’s going to help us get across
M-89 and then they’re going to go
37th Street South all the way to G
Avenue which is 15 miles,” she said.
After crossing G Avenue, they’ll
run the last two miles on 37th where
they will regroup at Ambling Avenue
at about 6:30 p.m.
“At 6:45, they’re going to run
the ball into the stadium,” she said.
“I’m thinking they’re going to hand
it off to the officials, I don’t know if
the team will be on the field yet. So,
that’s the exciting part.”
In all, five team members and three
alumni are participating in the run.
