disappeared from history. There are references to them until 997.
Tribes under lesser chiefs survived in the old homeland, and some of
these sent missions to the Later T’ang, Later Chin, Later Han, Later
Chou, and the Khitan/Liao.
On Apr.2, 924, the T’u-hun offered race horses to the Later T’ang
court (Chiu Wu-tai shih 31:6b-7a).
In the 2nd month (Feb./Mar.) of 925, a T’u-hun chief presented
horses to the Later T’ang court. Another mission offered sheep and
horses. On Nov.11th, a T’u-hun chief offered regional objects (Hsin
Wu-tai shih 5:8b; Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5034).
On Mar.7, 926, T’u-hun envoys to the Later T’ang court presented
horses (Chiu wu-tai shih 34:2a).
On Feb.28, 928, a T’u-hun chief presented 120 horses to the Later
T’ang court. Emperor Ming-tsung conferred on him the nominal titles
of Meritorious Subject, Imperial Household Grandee of the Golden
Seal and Purple Ribbon, and Acting Grand Guardian (Hsin Wu-tai
shih 6:6b; Wu-tai hui-yao 28:11a).
On Dec.25, 928, the T’u-hun presented 53 horses to the Later
T’ang court (Hsin Wu-tai shih 6:7a; Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5034).
On Sep.16, 929, a T’u-hun chief came to the Later T’ang court
and offered gifts (Hsin Wu-tai shih 6:8a; Wu-tai hui-yao 28:11a).
In the 3rd month (April) of 930, Emperor Ming-tsung of Later
T’ang conferred on a T’u-hun chief the nominal title of Inspector
and gave him a Chinese name. On Sep.19 of that year, a T’u-hun
mission arrived at the Later T’ang court (Hsin Wu-tai shih 6:9a; Wu-tai
hui-yao 28:11a-11b).
On Mar.1, 931, a T’u-hun chief presented horses to the Later T’ang
court (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5045; Hsin Wu-tai shih 6:9b).
On Mar.3, 933, the T’u-yü-hun offered gifts to the Khitan court
(Liao shih 3:6b).
In the 1st month (Feb./Mar.) of 935, a T’u-hun chief came to the
Later T’ang court and presented horses (Ts’e-fu yüan-kuei p.5035).
On Juy 2, 935, the T’u-yü-hun offered gifts to the Khitan court
(Liao shih 3:8a).
On July 19 and Aug.29, 936, the T’u-yü-hun offered gifts to the
Khitan court (Liao shih 3:8b).
On June 30 and Sep.22, 938, the T’u-yü-hun offered gifts to the
Khitan court (Liao shih 4:1b).
On July 29, 939, the T’u-yü-hun offered gifts to the Khitan court
(Liao shih 4:3b).
