Five Tips for Staging an Open House


1.Brighten it up.Turn on the lights in rooms that
are dim (without overkill). Making a home too
bright can show imperfections and take away
from a relaxed mood. If it’s a sunny day, open the
shades and show off the natural light the home
gets.
2.Rid all odors.If there are funky smells going on in
your open house, try your best to get rid of them.
You can light candles, buy some pleasant scented
flowers, or bake some cookies. The smell of
baked goods will give buyers a natural homey feel
while they walk through the property. For animal
smells there are special odor removers that you
can purchase.
3.Turn on the tunes. Bring a radio to your open
house and play some easy listening music. This
should make buyers more comfortable in the
home and give them a soundtrack to remember
the home by when they leave. This also avoids
awkward silences.
4.Clean it up.Don’t hold an open house if the home
is a wreck; you’ll only make yourself look bad.
Kindly ask the sellers to clean up before the open.
