PerformIntegratedChange Control
Perform Integrated Change Control is the process of reviewing all change requests; approving
changesandmanagingchangestodeliverables,projectdocuments,andtheprojectmanagement
plan;and communicatingthedecisions.Thisprocessreviews allrequestsforchangesto project
documents,deliverables,or theproject managementplanand determinestheresolution ofthe
changerequests.Thekeybenefitofthisprocessisthatitallowsfordocumentedchangeswithinthe
projecttobeconsideredinanintegratedmannerwhileaddressingoverallprojectrisk,whichoften

document.Changesmayberequestedbyanystakeholderinvolvedwiththeprojectandmayoccur at

whichprojectartifactsneedtobeplacedunderconfigurationcontrol.Anychangeinaconfiguration
elementshouldbeformallycontrolledandwillrequireachangerequest.
Projectsareinitiatedbyanentityexternaltotheprojectsuch asasponsor,program orproject
managementoffice(PMO),oraportfoliogoverningbodychairpersonorauthorizedrepresentative.
Theprojectinitiatoror sponsorshouldbe atalevelthatis appropriatetoprocurefundingand
commitresourcestotheproject.Projectsareinitiatedduetointernalbusinessneedsorexternal
influences.Theseneedsorinfluencesoftentriggerthecreationofaneedsanalysis,feasibilitystudy,
businesscase,or description ofthe situationthatthe projectwill address.Chartering aproject
validatesalignmentoftheprojecttothestrategyandongoingworkoftheorganization.Aproject
charterisnotconsideredtobeacontractbecausethereisnoconsiderationormoneypromisedor
exchangedinitscreation.
