General Prescription


Ren-3 Zhongji, BL-28 Pangguangshu, BL-22 Sanjiaoshu, SP-9 Yinlingquan, BL-66 Tonggu,
BL-63 Jinmen, L.I.-11 Quchi. Reducing method, no moxa.



  • For Liver-Fire: LIV-2 Xingjian and SP-6 Sanyinjiao, with reducing method.

  • For Heart-Fire: HE-8 Shaofu, S.I.-2 Qiangu, with reducing method.

  • If with an exterior invasion: L.I.-4 Hegu, LU-7 Lieque and T.B.-5 Waiguan, reducing
    method.


Explanation



  • Ren-3 and BL-28, respectively Front-Collecting and Back-Transporting point of the
    Bladder, clear Heat and drain Dampness from the Bladder.

  • BL-22, Back-Transporting point of the Triple Burner, drains Dampness from the Lower
    Burner.

  • SP-9 drains Damp-Heat from the Lower Burner.

  • BL-66 clears Bladder-Heat.

  • BL-63, Accumulation point, stops pain in the Bladder channel.

  • L.I.-11 is used if symptoms of Heat (such as fever) are very pronounced.

  • LIV-2 drains Liver-Fire.

  • SP-6 clears Heat and cools Blood, drains Dampness from the Lower Burner and calms
    the Mind.

  • HE-8 drains Heart-Fire and calms the Mind.

  • S.I.-2 clears Small Intestine Heat. This is used because Fire is transmitted from the Heart
    to the Bladder via the Small Intestine.
