Explanation
- Bian Xu, Che Qian Zi, Qu Mai, Mu Tong and Hua Shi all drain Damp-Heat from the
Bladder and open the Water passages. - Da Huang clears Heat by moving downwards. This method is sometimes combined with
that of clearing Heat via urination, as all the previous herbs do. - Zhi Zi drains Damp-Heat from the Three Burners.
- Zhi Gan Cao harmonizes and stops pain.
This is the main prescription to drain Damp-Heat from the Bladder.
Variations
- If symptoms of Dampness are very pronounced add Fu Ling Sclerotium Poriae cocos and
Zhu Ling Sclerotium Polypori umbellati. - If constipation is pronounced increase Da Huang Rhizoma Rhei and add Zhi Shi Fructus
