Maxim Jean-Louis is President – Chief Executive Officer of Contact
North | Contact Nord, Ontario’s Distance & Education Network. Since
1986 Contact North I Contact Nord helps 4 million residents in 600
small, rural, remote, Indigenous and Francophone communities in the
province of Ontario, Canada access post-secondary and training
opportunities from Ontario’s 24 public colleges, 22 public universities,
and more than 250 literacy and other training providers. Maxim Jean-
Louis serves on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Trillium
Foundation, Renewed Computer Technology and People for Education.

“Leadership and ethics in higher education: Some perspectives from
experience”


Professor Nyameko Barney Pityana is the retired Principal and Vice
Chancellor of the University of South Africa. He is Professor Emeritus
of Law at Unisa, and an Honorary Professor in Philosophy, Allan Gray
Centre for Leadership Ethics, at Rhodes University, Grahamstown. He
also served as Rector of the College of the Transfiguration,
Grahamstown, an Anglican theological seminary. He holds degrees in
Law and a PhD in Religious Studies and fellowships from King’s
College, London and the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study. He
is currently Secretary General of the Network of African Academies of
Science, and Vice President of the Academy of Science of South Africa.
