Prof Paul Prinsloo is a Research Professor in Open and Distance
Learning at the University of South Africa (Unisa). His academic
background includes fields as diverse as theology, art history, business
management, online learning, and religious studies. Paul is an
established researcher and has published numerous articles in the fields
of teaching and learning, student success in distance education contexts,
learning analytics, and curriculum development. His current research
focuses on the collection, analysis and use of student data in learning
analytics, graduate supervision and digital identity. Paul was born

Dr Som Naidu spent most of his professional life in the higher education
sector in various roles to do with enhancing learning and teaching
practices in open, flexible, distance, and online learning, as well as
education more generally. Currently at Monash University, most
recently he served as Associate Professor (Learning Transformations) at
Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. His undergraduate
and postgraduate qualifications are in Education and Educational
Technology. Dr. Naidu is Principal Associate of Technology, Education
and Design Solutions (a consultancy and advisory service), current
president of the Open and Distance Learning Association of Australia,
and executive editor of its journal Distance Education.
