Non-THC Hemp flowers are not widely available at time of going
to press, however you may want to contact the HFIA (see
resource list) for up-to-date news. The hemp food industry has just
begun. Fresh hemp flowers are seasonal. October is the best time
for UK crops.
20 plants worth of hemp flowers (or 500g fresh hemp seeds)
1.8 kg sugar 65oz citric acid
2 lemons
1.2 litres spring water.
Mix water and sugar. Bring to boil. Stir until dissolved. Place
flowers in a large sterilised container and pour water oven them.
To sterilise a container you can cover with boiling minute for 2
minutes. Stir in citric acid with a serialised wooden spoon. Add
grated zest of lemons and rest of lemon in slices. Leave for 24
hours. Strain & pour into sterilised container. This makes 11/2
litres of concentrated hemp cordial. Great on a summer's day,
diluted and served with ice and orange slice.
