LIME-GRILLED TURKEY TACOS WITH AVOCADO SALSA

FOR THE AVOCADO SALSA:
1 AVOCADO, PITTED, PEELED, AND DICED
JUICE OF 1 LIME
2 TOMATOES, SEEDED AND DICED
½ CUP MINCED SCALLIONS
½ CUP MINCED GREEN BELL PEPPER
½ CUP CHOPPED CILANTRO
SALT AND PEPPER
FOR THE TURKEY:
½ TEASPOON ONION SALT
½ TEASPOON GARLIC SALT
1 TABLESPOON PAPRIKA
½ TEASPOON CAYENNE
¼ TEASPOON DRIED THYME
¼ TEASPOON BLACK PEPPER
1 POUND TURKEY BREAST TENDERLOINS
1 TABLESPOON EXTRA-VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
1 ONION, SLICED INTO ¼-INCH RINGS
2 JALAPEÑO PEPPERS, HALVED LENGTHWISE
2 LIMES, CUT INTO QUARTERS
6 WHOLE WHEAT TORTILLAS OR PITAS
1½ CUPS SHREDDED ROMAINE LETTUCE
½ CUP SOUR CREAM (OPTIONAL)
1. Mix the avocado, lime juice, tomatoes, scallions, bell pepper, and cilantro in a small bowl. Season
with salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
2. Mix the onion salt, garlic salt, paprika, cayenne, thyme, and black pepper. Place the turkey on a
plate and drizzle both sides with the oil. Sprinkle with the spice mixture.
3. Place the turkey, onion rings, and jalapenos on the grill over high heat. Grill the turkey for 7
minutes. Squeeze a lime quarter over the meat, turn the pieces, and squeeze another lime quarter over
them. Grill for 8 minutes or until a meat thermometer reaches 170°F and the turkey is no longer pink
in the center. Grill the onion and jalapenos, turning frequently, until charred. Remove all from the
grill.
