Thyroid hormone

Thyrotropin-releasinghormone (TRH)Used to detecthyperthyroidism when T4is not elevated.Adverse effectsuncommon.Used for diagnosticpurposes.Injection.Collect baseline T, 4
followed by 0.1 mg/kg IV.Collect post-TRH T4sample at 4h.Thyrotropin,thyroid-stimulatinghormone (TSH)(Thytropar, Thyrogen)Thyroid-stimulatinghormone is used fordiagnostic testing.Stimulates normalsecretion of thyroidhormone.Adverse reactions rare.
